Start Haus Ski & Bike

I got the liners on my ski boots replaced here. Teddy (90% sure that's his name) was amazing. He had me try on a couple of different varieties of bootliners, and was very knowledgeable in his explanations. The bootliners that I chose were probably 95% perfect, and Teddy told me that he could do a quick customization to the tongue to make them 100%. They are definitely now 100% perfect! I was in and out in an hour for all of that. I mostly ski South Lake Tahoe and this was well worth the drive! I'll be ripping on these for years to come EDIT: unfortunately this review did not hold up. Hopefully they can repair the bootliners tomorrow and make them acceptable. The tongues are only attached with Velcro, so ~80% of the time they rip off when you pull the boot on 🙄. This requires me to fully take my foot out, take apart the boot and the boot liner and put them all back together, which is completely unacceptable when I am on a 45° plus grade in freezing temperatures) EDIT 2: I brought the liners in question back to the store, and Ryan did an INCREDIBLE job of engineering a custom solution. Back up to 5 stars. It is extremely rare in 2026 for a company to back up a product they were already paid for. Start haus going above and beyond.

Required a last minute binding remount first thing on a Saturday morning. The staff fit me in and had me out the door in little more than an hour. They were very helpful and accommodating. Will definitely be using them again.

I went to the start house too get some boots tuned up and solve a problems with some pressure points. Teddy was outstanding. He not only knew exactly how to remedy my fitting issues but gave me some hints on how to warm up the boots to make getting into them easier. I would highly recommend working with Teddy though the other experts seem to be very competent as well. The shop also has every conceivable piece of gear you need for high-performance skiing . It’s a big boy toy store.
